DIY & Projects

There is something satisfying about looking at a problem and thinking, “I can figure this out.”

I love getting my hands dirty and finding ways to make things work better. Sometimes that means refinishing a piece of furniture. Sometimes it means building something we need. And sometimes it means taking something that isn't quite right and giving it a completely different purpose.

I'm not a professional contractor or master craftsman. I'm simply someone who enjoys learning, experimenting, and seeing what I can create.

There's a different kind of satisfaction in saying, “I bought that” versus “I made that because we needed it.”

Here I'll share the projects we've tackled around our home, the transformations I've taken on, the things I've built or changed, and the lessons learned when things don't go exactly as planned.

Some projects will be polished. Others will be wonderfully imperfect.

That's part of the fun.

What We Learned

DIY doesn't always go according to plan.

We'll share the mistakes, the unexpected problems, the tools that made a difference, and the little lessons that can save someone else time, money, or frustration.

Because sometimes the most useful part of a project isn't the finished product.

It's knowing what we learned getting there.

You don't have to know how.

You just have to be willing to figure it out.

That's how we're learning, too.
